Hi! I'm Sue, a dedicated and compassionate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) therapist with a passion for guiding my clients towards improved mental well-being, in ways that are meaningful to them. My approach is grounded in the belief that our thoughts influence our emotions and behaviours, and by identifying and reshaping negative thought patterns, we can create lasting positive change.
About me and my practice
I understand that seeking therapy can be a big step, which is why Im committed to providing a safe, non-judgmental, and empathetic space for you to explore your challenges. I have worked with people facing all sorts of challenges, including anxiety, depression, stress management, relationship issues, and low self-esteem. My approach is highly individualized, tailoring CBT techniques to your unique needs and goals, without making sessions feel like worksheet-heavy, tick-box exercises. We will collaboratively set goals, and check-in periodically to monitor progress and adjust as needed.
I am a GSRD (Gender, Sex & Relationship Diversity) affirmative therapist, and want to create an environment where my clients feel welcome and comfortable being their whole selves, which includes their gender expression, sexuality, and relationship style. Gender and sexuality might not be the reason youre coming to therapy, but they are important parts of who you are and I understand how these aspects of your personhood can impact and shape your life. Therapy shouldnt be a place where you feel the need to watch what you say or educate your therapist about who you are. You can be yourself with me.
Feel free to reach out to schedule a session or ask any questions you may have.
Experience
I am a qualified CBT Therapist and also trained as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist in Canada, in 2013. I've been using cognitive and behavioural psychology techniques in my work with nutrition clients, helping them to change their thoughts and behaviours around foods and eating. I am passionate about helping my clients overcome anxiety, depression and low self-esteem - challenges that have prevented them from living life to the fullest, and from engaging in day-to-day activities that they so deeply wish to enjoy.

Initial Consultation
Our first session is an assessment; it gives us an opportunity to connect and discuss what's brought you to therapy, and for both of us to determine if we're a good fit for each other. We'll cover a working agreement/counselling contract, and you'll be able to ask any questions that you might have about our work together. I encourage you to come prepared with any questions you may have so that you can make an informed decision about working with me.
Fees
Each session lasts 50 minutes, and is an investment of £50.
